Prof. Rob Jensen’s main interests are in the economics of art and patterns of artistic behavior, but he has been thinking and occasionally writing about photography for over thirty years. He has published a number of essays on photography, including “The Photographic Grotesque” and “Against Photography: Reading Barthes on Photography”
For those interested these essays can be downloaded from Jensen’s website at:
He has an unpublished book-length manuscript called Against Photography, which Rosalind Krauss described as the worst book on photography ever written. Come to the talk and see whether she’s right.
